Founded From Lived Experience

NB Skin Science was shaped through lived experience and deep
respect for theory, education, and evidence-based practice.

As a teenager and young adult, I lived with severe acne and
psoriasis. I also experienced the emotional impact of having problematic skin — and a skin tone — that was not always understood or well supported by the products and treatments available at the time.

These experiences did not replace science — they motivated
me to seek it.

They drove me to study skin more deeply, question existing
approaches, and build solutions that work across all skin tones, while giving
particular care to skin of colour — which, for many years, had limited safe and
effective options.

NB Skin Science was born from this intersection of experience, education, and intention.

Humble Beginnings, Purpose-Driven Growth

NB Skin Science did not begin with a factory or a product line.

It began with one beauty bed, gifted to me by my late father
— and a commitment to do meaningful work with integrity.

From those early days in the treatment room, I learned that
real progress in skin comes from patience, consistency, and listening — not
from force or over-correction.

That foundation still guides everything we do today.

Recognised for Excellence — Built on Integrity

In 2025, I was honoured with Beauty Therapist of the Year –
South Africa by Professional Beauty International, recognising over two decades of contribution to advanced skincare, education, and ethical treatment
practices.

This recognition reflects a career built on resilience, continuous learning, and a
commitment to treating skin with understanding — not aggression.

Resilience, Education, and Global Perspective

Despite financial challenges early in my career, I remained
deeply committed to education and professional growth.

I graduated from a FET college as the only student to
receive international recognition, then went on to train internationally —
including advanced professional education in London and postgraduate studies in
Cosmetology in India.

These experiences broadened my understanding of skin
biology, formulation science, and — critically — the diversity of skin tones
and responses across different populations.

I am ITEC-certified in aesthetics and continue to pursue
lifelong learning, because skin science evolves — and responsible practitioners
evolve with it.
